Main content start

Andrea Wallace graduated from the University of Arkansas with her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in May 2016 and M.S. in Electrical Engineering in December 2019. While obtaining her M.S., Andrea was an active member of POETS. She held multiple positions on the SLC, including Treasurer (2016-2017), President (2017-2018) and Vice President (2018-2019) and also worked on IAB funded research projects. After graduating in December 2019, Andrea accepted a position at Northrop Grumman – Mission Systems in Baltimore, MD. Her current role is within the Pathways Rotational Program as a mechanical engineer working in microelectronic packaging.

James Carpenter received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-St.Louis/Washington University in Saint Louis (joint degree) in 2015 and his M.S. in Mechanical Science and Engineering from UIUC in 2018. His research interests include sustainable energy solutions, thermal efficiency enhancements of engineering systems, and the application of nano-scale heat transfer concepts to achieve both. Currently, his research focuses on ice-bridge formation on superhydrophobic surfaces. He enjoys reading, exercise, and mindfulness practices.
