Yuri Suzuki

Yuri Suzuki is the faculty director of the shared facilities and the Stanley G. Wojcicki Professor in the department of Applied Physics. In her role as faculty director, she works closely with facilities staff and faculty to support and accelerate research for users. She was a user herself of the precursors of the current facilities while carrying out her Ph.D. research in applied physics. After post-doctoral work at Bell Labs, she was an assistant and associate professor in Materials Science and Engineering at Cornell where her research relied on the excellent facilities at the Cornell Nanofabrication Facility and the shared facilities of the Cornell Center for Materials Research. She then moved to UC Berkeley in 2002 and more recently in 2012 to Stanford. Her research focuses on emergent behavior in strongly correlated oxide systems, with particular recent emphasis on oxide interfaces, and spin current generation and control.
