Eli Weiss

Eli manages the MOCVD lab in the Allen building and focuses on crystal growth of GaN, GaAs, and InP based materials. Eli received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley. He previously worked 25 years in the photonics industry developing a wide array of compound semiconductor based lasers and detectors. He started up two Bay Area fabs and has extensive experience with device design and fabrication of high power edge emitting and surface emitting lasers in the UV, visible, and IR ranges.
