Safety Training for Allen Equipment Access (SNF)

In order to become a qualified user of the equipment in the Allen Buildling (SNF) follow each of these steps in the order as listed here:

Step 1: Become a nano@stanford lab member

Complete the process to become a nano@stanford lab member and receive administrative approval.

Step 2: Watch the training videos

Step 3: Review the required lab policies

Step 4: Complete and pass the safety quiz

Online safety quiz

  • You must pass and score 100% before you can be confirmed for the in-person lab tour.
  • All the information needed to pass is included in the materials above. If you do not pass, please review the material and retake the quiz.

Step 5: Schedule and attend an in-person orientation

  • Email snf-access@stanford.edu or reply to the auto-confirmation email after passing the safety quiz to schedule an in-person tour for the Allen building (SNF).
  • Attend the Safety Tour(s): Dress appropriately for the lab. At the end of the tour, you’ll complete a check-off form agreeing to follow all lab policies and guidelines.
  • After your tour, staff will initiate your card key access and you will be provided a NEMO account to book and train on instruments in Allen. 
    You may only enter the lab and schedule tool trainings once your access is active.
